Kid’s Club began in 2003 with Jim & Jenni Balderson. God put it in their hearts to have a safe place for kids to come, play, and learn about Jesus. Now, Coky and Marisa are pressing forward with the same purpose. Every Saturday at 10 kids start trickling in until the rancho is full. First we play games in the park next to the property; then the kids gather under the rancho to hear a Bible story from a Spanish Children’s Bible Stories book that we are following. The kids answer questions, usually premeditated by Alejandra, one of the local leaders in Jaco. Then one of the kids will facilitate the verse memorization for the week, this is basically a bunch of kids screaming a verse in Spanish as loud as they can! Of course, if they remember the verse they receive candy! Last we do a craft all together while eating a snack of juice and cookies. We believe that through all this kids become more comfortable trusting us and eventually trusting the Lord.
